Luxury – noun - a pleasure out of the ordinary allowed to oneself: the luxury of an extra piece of the cake.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Austin along a stretch of the lake known as “barefoot alley”, is Camp Sawin, a 2 acre gated estate. We are situated between the cool, clear lake (avg. water temp 65 degrees) and a nature preserve. Camp Sawin is a private residence that you will want to make your secret luxury getaway on Lake Austin.

From Camp Sawin, Austin, known as “The Live Music Capital of the World”, is just 30 minutes by car, about 45 minutes by boat. Imagine an evening cruise on our 22 foot Tige’ to Tom Miller dam. From Tom Miller Dam a 5-minute cab gets you just about anywhere downtown. No hassle just pure relaxation. 10 minutes from Camp Sawin you will find The Hill Country Galleria, great restaurants (Rocco’s, Steiner Steak House, Hudsons On the Bend, Carlos and Charlies), grocery stores (Randall’s and HEB), fast food (Sonic, Whataburger, McDonalds, Taco Bell), drug stores and gas stations. Downtown, the convention center, Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium, the Capitol, and 6th Street are 30 minutes and the airport is only 40 minutes. Golf courses abound with Falconhead, Spanish Oaks, Barton Creek, Yaupon, The Hills, Live Oak, UT Golf Club, Austin Country Club and Flintrock Falls all less than 20 minutes by car. By boat the Lake Austin Spa Resort, recently rated the top spa in the country by Conde' Nast, is just a 5 minute ride for a massage or other deluxe spa treatment of your choice. Just a few minutes further on the lake are several excellent restaurants like County Line on the Lake (BBQ), Hula Hut (Mexican food, full bar, great views), Abel’s on the Lake, or Ski Shores Waterfront Cafe (burgers and pizza).

The guest house is a separate building from the main house at Camp Sawin and will be the luxurious base camp for your Austin adventure. The camp guest house has two twin beds, two full beds, and one queen fold out sleeper. All beds have 600 thread count sheets and 3” of luxurious memory foam. The kitchen is equipped with a full sized refrigerator, stand alone ice machine, microwave and a Convection / Broiler as well as a full set of plates, glasses and silverware for 8, pots, pans and other kitchen utensils. A propane barbeque affords grilling on the 2nd story lake view deck. The main room has two leather recliners and a sofa, perfect for viewing the HD TV with a Direct TV movie package. Three ceiling fans and 2 A/C zones keep the camp at a comfortable temperature. The kids can hone their skills on our authentic pinball machine (no quarters required). How about a quick workout in the gym? Camp Sawin has a full set of free weights, treadmill, power rack, mats, heavy and regular exercise balls. After your workout relax in a 6-person redwood dry sauna.

While having 1100 square feet of luxury on the inside the real fun at Camp Sawin in our opinion is found outside. Our 2-acre property is crammed with goodies. There is a batting cage with pitching machine so be sure and bring your bat and helmet. In addition to the batting cage throw a football, kick a soccer ball, or take a jump on the trampoline. The grass playing field has plenty of room. In the evening watch the deer graze on the playing field. Stroll through the cactus/southwest garden, vegetable garden or rose garden. Stop anywhere for a moment of relaxation or reflection. Our lake view Jacuzzi has a six-foot waterfall with cave and is actually 3 interconnected spas, one of which is 5 feet deep. There is nothing quite like a warm, soothing Jacuzzi after a refreshing cool dip in the lake. Deck and patio space abounds so there will be no problem finding the perfect spot. In the evenings our six-foot gas fire ring is perfect for toasting marshmallows and scary story telling.

Most importantly there is the lake. Remember lake trips when you were a kid? Oh what fun. Be on the water from sunrise to sunset. Bring your boat and tie up to our dock. No boat? We can secure a rental. Bring your skis, wake boards, surf boards, water toys and fishing poles. We have a kayak and a 22 foot Tige’ with a great sound system. The dock has an adjustable entry ramp. We can secure any lake adventure (cruising/dining, wakeboarding, skiing, fishing, or sightseeing). A great place to watch all the lake action is our sunning deck on top of the dock.

See you soon we hope.
